It was really good. The "Great Exchange" is a beautiful thing that reveals God's love more and more. All of our sins were laid on the lamb, and Jesus' righteousness was given to us.That's beautiful.Jesus is beautiful, and ultimately amazing.

thanks gcclald for your critical analysis. i still agree with Sproul, we need to have the righteousness of Christ imputed to us in order to stand before a Holy God.

I disagree and I detect in the video Dr Sproul's mind recoiling a little at his own words - a little stumjble and a rub of the nose(ref -2.05mins).

He says "I would be innocent but not just"
No no no! Surely it is sin which defiles - remove the defilement and we are accepted.

What is needed for a righteous standing before God is a clean heart - forgiveness of sins. Getting our sins forgiven gives us acceptance before God.
The sacrifice on the cross is enough - for by one offering He has perfected forever those who are being made holy (Heb10.14) The one offering that brings forgiveness also brings perfection.

Christ's perfect keeping of the law proved that He was the perfect sacrifice. He did not keep the law so as to impute it to us. Covenant Theology requires this imputation of the lawkeeping of Christ into our account to balance the (supposed) covenant of works. Dr Sproul's argument makes for good Covenant Theology but, I'm sorry to say, bad Bible.
